Best Airlines in World
According to the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards, the world’s best airline is… Emirates! Finally, the Dubai-based airline reclaimed its number one spot after a decade, when it was voted in 2001 for its first world’s best airline of the year award, and after which, defended the title on the following year. In addition to garnering the overall top honors, Emirates had also bagged two other awards-the best Middle Eastern airline award and the best in-flight entertainment award.
Emirates: was heavily preferred through a survey-replies from public opinion polls in Chinese, Spanish, Russian and English-by about 18.2 million passengers that represented more than 150 countries all over the world. The survey, dubbed as the “world’s largest review site”, is the world’s largest airline passenger satisfaction survey which is conducted annually by the prestigious U.K.-based travel consultancy, Skytrax-the public face of In-flight Research Services.
Skytrax determined its annual ratings from passenger’s reviews covering almost everything about an airline’s services, customer value and amenities. A few among the several parameters where votes were essentially based are the aircraft’s cabin interiors, cabin’s cleanliness, the menu features in in-flight cuisine, entertainment on board and the friendliness and hospitality of the airline’s crew and staff.
Prior to its present esteemed status, it must be noted that Emirates had slightly slipped from second position, a rank which it has held from the past couple of years. Its customer services and value scores relegated the airline at third place last year, although it has consistently kept its high ratings in amenities, food and in-flight services. Nevertheless, Emirates persevered and continued to hurdle benchmarks for excellence just as it had always performed through all these years. A point of interest though is the airline’s signature, Shower Spa, offered at the first class section. This state-of-the art innovation in airline amenities had somehow made Emirates cope up with speed with the very best.
However, Emirates’ top management believed, there were several factors why the Middle Eastern airline was voted the best. Interviewed by CNN, management was recorded to have admitted that Emirates is determined to retain the title by maintaining, if not, surpassing its core values. The top airline authorities further stated that with their wide fleet of aircraft and vast human resources comprising of its crew and staff, they will keep working with their best at what they do best-providing the best service available in order to meet, if not, surpass consumer’s expectations.
To round up the other winners of the world’s best airlines with their respective awards: Air Asia won as The Best Economical Airline; Japan’s ANA bagged the prize having the cleanest cabins; The Best Economy Class was awarded to Garuda Indonesia; Air New Zealand took The Best Premium Economy; Malaysia Airlines’ Satay Service was adjudged for having the Best Signature Dish; The Best Business Class was captured by Qatar Airways while Etihad Airways settled for Best First Class.
